Amy Liscomb is a Registered Dietitian with NutriFocus along with being a Pilates and Yoga Instructor. She has a love for helping people feel better in their own bodies through movement and sound nutrition. The mind-body connection of Pilates and yoga layers perfectly with mindful eating and helping clients learn to tune in and trust their own bodies. Amy received her B.S. in Nutrition/Dietetics from the University of Alabama and completed her internship at Children’s Hospital of Alabama and Canyon Ranch in Tucson, AZ. She served as the Pediatric Dietitian at UK Children’s Hospital and has also worked in the test kitchens for Oxmoor House. Pilates training includes comprehensive certification through Club Pilates, Balanced Body training, Rebecca Leone Reformer training, NESTA Sport Yoga training and YMCA/ACE Group Exercise certification. Amy is married to Todd and has 3 awesome children that put up with her quirkiness. Fun Fact: Amy has been teaching long enough to remember wearing the thong leotard on the outside of her spandex.
Ellen Italiaander began her Pilates career in New York City in 1985 and has been training clients in the Health and Wellness business for 30 years. She opened her Pilates/Training studio, Elevate Your Body, in Sandy Springs, GA in 2012. She relocated to Birmingham in June 2017 and manages our Downtown Birmingham location. When she is not working outside the home, she enjoys spending time with her husband, James, their 8 kids, 3 dogs, and cat!
Kathryn first discovered Pilates in 1999. As one of Club Pilates' first clients, her overall health improved dramatically and she decided to make the change from her almost 15 years in pharmaceutical sales to share her passion for Pilates with others. She has completed over 500 hours in comprehensive training with Club Pilates and is now certified in: Pilates, TRX, Trigger Point and Barre Above (in June). She is excited to share the benefits of Pilates with all ages and fitness levels.
Lynna Stubbs is originally from Memphis, Tn. She is a graduate of Samford University and majored in education. She always enjoyed sports and learning how the body moves. Lynna started teaching group fitness in 2001 and has multiple certifications. She continued her education through AFAA, NASM, Mad Dogg Athletics, Les Mills and a comprehensive Pilates certification with Club Pilates. The quality of education and efficacy of Pilates is what led her to get certified and she started teaching at Club Pilates in October of 2017.
Mallory Hamrick has a background in Marketing and Financial Technology along with being a Pilates instructor. She began taking Pilates classes at The University of Alabama and continued taking classes as an early member at Club Pilates Cahaba Heights. Her Pilates training includes comprehensive certification through Club Pilates, completing over 500 hours in Pilates, TRX and Trigger Point. She is focused on creating tailored workouts that energize and leave clients feeling their best. For Mallory, the most enjoyable part about being an instructor at Club Pilates is building relationships with people and watching clients’ growth and progression as they further their Pilates practice.
Stacey is a comprehensively certified Pilates instructors and began teaching in 2014. She has a Master's in Human Development and Family Studies, as well as a background in social work. She has always enjoyed helping others. What Stacey loves most about teaching Pilates is both being able to creatively tailor each session to meet her clients' needs, as well as being able to see the progress clients make both physically and mentally as they enjoy learning Pilates and experiencing all its benefits.
Stephanie Garner is comprehensively certified through Club Pilates, and has over 500 hours of training on Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Springboard, Mat, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Myofascial release, and TRX. Plus an additional certification in Pilates Suspension. Stephanie suffered an injury to her back that resulted in 3 surgeries, and she struggled with debilitating chronic pain for years. No amount of rehabilitation seemed to offer any marked improvement. Pilates was introduced to her and after a few months of practice her pain was noticeably improved and has continued to get better. Convinced that nothing could help, to see such a difference was life changing for her. This prompted Stephanie to earn her certification, and to also help others see that they too can feel stronger, more capable, and hopefully live a life without unnecessary pain and suffering.
Tabitha Stine is a certified Pilates instructor and studio manager from San Diego, CA. Her knowledge, experience and encouraging attitude make her an excellent instructor of individuals and groups of all ages and backgrounds. Always athletic, Tabitha participated in gymnastics, swimming and jiu jitsu as a child, and eventually progressed to coaching and training in the CrossFit community. She discovered Pilates in 2014 after several injuries had slowed her fitness progress. She quickly fell in love with the mind and body benefits of the reformer and Pilates Method and became certified as a Pilates instructor in 2015. After moving to Birmingham in the summer of 2019, Tabitha joined the Club Pilates team as an instructor and Riverchase CP general manager. As instructor and manager, she is a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivational, and loves helping our members become healthy and strong. When Tabitha is not at the studio, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and four children.
Sarah Yandell is a graduate from the University of Alabama. While earning her BA in Communication Studies, with a minor in Nutrition, Sarah taught Pilates at the University Recreation Center. In 2016, she graduated from The Pilates Center's Advanced teacher training program in Boulder, Colorado. Sarah began her Pilates journey in 2008, due to multiple sports related injuries and is excited for the opportunity to teach at Club Pilates and continue her practice. Sarah quickly saw the benefits of Pilates, not only physically, but mentally, as well. Pilates is a great outlet and can be practiced daily. Sarah loves the power of movement and sharing that with her clients. Sarah believes in the method of Pilates and being able to share that knowledge of precision with her clients.
Meredith Castleberry started doing Pilates three years ago at Club Pilates. She had tried lots of different workouts and nothing ever really stuck - she would give up or never see results. Pilates was the only thing that has ever worked for her. Meredith loved it so much she decided to become an instructor in 2018 and she loves teaching and being able to share her passion with others. Meredith loves that Pilates works for everyone.
Grace Kurosaka is a dancer originally from Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated in May 2018 with dual degrees in Dance and Biology with an English Minor and Pre-Medical Track. Grace has had the opportunity to perform original and restaged works by Cornelius Carter and Lawrence Jackson of Cleo Parker Robinson, Kavin Grant, Natosha Washington, and Qianping Guo of Pacific Northwest Ballet. Grace has also had the opportunity to study movement with Staibdance in Italy, Countertechnique at One Body One Career, study choreography with Val Caniparoli of San Francisco Ballet through Regional Dance America Choreographer's Intensive, and study dance for the camera with Rebecca Salzer of Rebecca Salzer Dance Theater. After graduating, Grace worked at The Yard as the Technical Production Artist Intern. Recent commissions include a presentation of her work "Carousel" on University of Alabama Dance Department. Grace is currently working with Jellybean Dance Collective under the direction of Victoria Niblett. Grace recently became an instructor with Club Pilates and Encore Performance Company in Birmingham this year.
